Timber Treatment - UC3User class 3 allows timber to be used in all the areas where UC2 is permitted, as well as fully external conditions, above ground. We keep a full range in all the usual sizes, which allows you to work on whatever the weather! Generally (as mentioned above), UC3 is only available on C16, so not only does it offer superior protection, it can also save you money!
Uses: Shed building, deck joists, pergolas, fencing, etc.
Timber Treatment - UC4 For ground to air contact situations, UC4 treatment is needed; the greatest area of harm to wood is when it's in contact with soil (and to a certain extent water). The ground to air contact point is where the bugs, fungus and other elements gather easily and attack the timber.
It would be very rare that constructional timber is treated to UC4, as it is only required when the timber is in contact with the ground. All of our sleepers and posts are treated to UC4, meaning you can be confident in their lifespan.
Uses: Only used in landscaping, for fence posts & sleepers.
