Here in ‘FORT World’ it’s been a very busy time. June was exceptionally busy; July returned to more normal patterns but we’ve been having a great time with our FORT Summer Spectacular Darts Competition, which has drawn in many customers to see our superb showrooms and to meet a long line of suppliers, to whom we’re extremely grateful, for their support and generosity!

What a difference the sun makes! There’s been a marked increase in enquiries; the collection yard is always busy and our Customers are flat out – surely a hosepipe ban must be imminent?!

Ideally, FORT enjoys trying to persuade our customers and their clients to consider options that will be longer lasting, energy efficient and positive on insulation values. FORT are aware of global human issues, such as child labour and do our utmost to either mitigate or eliminate all of the negatives.

For the last few months the weather has been the key factor, lots of projects running behind and anxiety growing as future projects are starting to become delayed, but it really does seem as if we’re through the worst.

I’m pleased to be the friendliest van driver on the FORT delivery fleet, and because of that I guarantee a cracking smile from myself anytime we cross paths! We’re always busy here at FORT so that leaves me out on the road with a full van getting you all the materials you need to your site. Since joining the team I’ve enjoyed everyone’s friendly team spirited attitude, and after all team work makes the dream work.

Writing this on a day in mid March where it isn’t raining and there’s none on forecast for another couple of days seems almost surreal, there’s even some blue sky with, dare I say it, some glimpses of sunshine? It’s not just the weather which is improving though; we have longer daylight hours and with the budget out of the way we know more clearly where we are economically.

I joined the yard team in May of last year and it’s been fantastic to work alongside a great team of guys. We’re the ones picking and packing your orders ready for collections or deliveries.

Maybe it’s just a dream, but was there a short spell when it was a little bit drier during these past few weeks? As you’ll see below, we seem to be having very high rainfall levels. The ground is still totally saturated, so it won’t take much to see flooding again and that is seriously affecting groundworks. But the days are also lengthening and we’re heading for the busier phase for construction.
